The mission of the WSACS is to promote research, foster education, and improve the survival of patients with intra-abdominal hypertension (IAH) and/or abdominal compartment syndrome (ACS) All who have an interest in the diagnosis, management, and/or treatment of IAH / ACS are invited to join the Society.

The Fourth World Congress on the Abdominal Compartment Syndrome (WCACS) is scheduled to take place at Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland, 25-27 June 2009. This Congress promises to be the best WCACS meeting yet. The WSACS strongly encourages investigators to plan ahead so that the latest cutting-edge research on IAH/ACS is presented at the meeting. Third World Congress on the Abdominal Compartment Syndrome an Enormous Success
The Third World Congress on the Abdominal Compartment Syndrome (WCACS) was held in Antwerp, Belgium, 22-24 March 2007. This exciting conference had over 400 participants from some 60 countries. The latest cutting-edge research on IAH and ACS was presented. The slide presentations from this Congress are now available on the website.
Clinical Trials Working Group (CTWG)
The WSACS Clinical Trials Working Group (CTWG) was formed to design and carry out prospective research on IAH and ACS. It represents a major function of the WSACS. Eighteen different study proposals presented at the Third World Congress on the Abdominal Compartment Syndrome (WCACS) are currently being reviewed by the CTWG. Selected studies will be posted on this website in the coming months and study sites will be solicited.
